The mixture of our democracy, our capitalism, and our rule of law has in the past provided the environment to grow the world’s strongest economy. But in recent years, Washington has constrained the free market with the growth of government, taxes, regulations and mandates. America has the most powerful economic engine known to man—the American entrepreneur. Set free, our job creators will innovate, build their businesses, and grow this economy.

During the darkest days of the 20th Century, Four Freedoms were set forth as a plan for America and the world. Those freedoms, captured by famed artist Norman Rockwell, inspired a generation. Now, during the struggle of our time, it is time to set forth Four Freedoms for America in the 21st Century:

· Freedom to Work
· Freedom from Debt
· Freedom from Foreign Dependence
· Freedom to Pursue the American Dream

If we focus on these Four Freedoms, America’s best days will lie ahead.

FREEDOM TO WORK

Economic growth is the essential and irreplaceable component to solving both our nation’s employment crisis and Washington’s debt crisis.  George LeMieux’s Four Freedoms Plan will grow the economy and create jobs by lowering taxes and vastly reducing the power of the federal government to overtax and over-regulate job creators.  The opposite of Washington’s top down government-controlled approach, the LeMieux Four Freedoms Plan will provide every American business and individual an opportunity to succeed in the global economy.

  • Dramatically reduce the corporate tax rate to 25% to spur investment and American competitiveness in the global economy
  • End the era of crony capitalism by establishing a line in the sand: no more government bailouts
  • Eliminate corporate tax loopholes, subsidies, and giveaways
  • Replace the outdated individual tax system with fewer brackets creating a flatter and fairer tax structure
  • Establish a repatriation tax holiday for corporations to bring off-shore dollars back to the U.S. to reinvest in the economy and create jobs
  • Repeal the crushing regulations that are hurting American job creators including Obamacare, Dodd-Frank, and the countless costly EPA regulations
  • Prohibit the NLRB from interfering in private business decisions such as employee relocation or operations
  • Establish a national right to work law

FREEDOM FROM DEBT

With annual budget deficits exceeding $1 trillion and the national debt at a staggering $14.6 trillion, Washington’s fiscal decay represents a clear and present danger to America’s future.  A stagnant economy will never generate enough revenue to stop our debt disaster.  George LeMieux’s Four Freedoms Plan calls for long-term solutions that address the unrestrained spending that drives our debt.

  • Reduce government spending to 2007 levels to balance the budget in two years
  • Pass a Constitutional amendment that requires a balanced federal budget
  • Establish caps on federal spending that are linked to historic percentages of GDP
  • Request that all federal government agencies reduce their spending by 10%
  • Reform entitlement programs such as Social Security and Medicare by means testing and gradually raising the retirement age for Americans under the age of 55
  • Permanently ban earmarks
  • Require sunsetting of all federal regulations unless specifically sustained by a vote of Congress
  • Ensure accountability of the federal government by requiring all federal agencies and programs to be renewed by Congress
  • Freeze salaries and hiring of federal employees, except for military
  • For every two federal employees who retire, only one should be hired

FREEDOM FROM FOREIGN DEPENDENCE

As a nation, America cannot lead the world, let alone be truly free, when it is dependent upon foreign nations for its credit and its energy.  The United States owes China one trillion dollars. Accordingly, it is imperative we balance our budget, repay our debts, and eliminate our foreign credit dependency. George LeMieux’s Four Freedoms Plan will encourage domestic production of energy to create jobs and decrease dependence on foreign oil. Instead of the destructive policies of cap and trade or a national energy tax, George LeMieux’s Four Freedoms Plan will unleash American energy production by utilizing our natural resources at home.

  • Lift bans on domestic oil and natural gas drilling in Alaska and off our coasts, including allowing drilling one hundred miles off the Florida coast
  • Encourage domestic exploration for clean coal and natural gas
  • Invest in the safe use of nuclear energy
  • Eliminate EPA regulations that are crushing domestic energy production

FREEDOM TO PURSUE THE AMERICAN DREAM

While financial freedom is essential to the American Dream, it is not sufficient by itself. Families must be able to make their own fundamental choices in life without undue government interference.  George LeMieux’s Four Freedoms Plan will protect these fundamental values.

  • Repeal Obamacare to lower health care costs, encourage competition, and ensure patients have the freedom to choose their own doctor without government interference
  • Limit the role of the federal government in education and allow parents maximum freedom to select the school of their choice for their children
  • Abolish Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to ensure that homeownership is not burdened by the effects of their market distortion
  • Relieve Americans from the crushing regulations instituted by Washington that cost small businesses billions of dollars
